The demand for plastic surgery is constantly increasing, so much so, that the American Society of Plastic Surgeons annual report, states that the number of plastic surgery procedures has grown over 132 per cent in the past 16 years.

From amongst the wide range of plastic surgery options, some particular trends have formed including plumped lips and curvier figures. As we are almost at the end of the year, we list a few of plastic surgery trends predicted to boom in 2019.

Hyaluronic lip fillers – for a plumper pout

Plump and smooth lips give the illusion of youth and good health. These days the easiest way to gain your dream lips is lip augmentation. It’s a straightforward non-surgical cosmetic procedure which takes just a few minutes to complete.

There are several different types of lip fillers but hyaluronic lip filler, using hyaluronic acid, is one of the preferred ways to increase volume and beautifully define lips. Hyaluronic acid is a gel-like substance which is absorbed slowly so that you can thicken lips gradually until you reach your desired result.  Kylie Jenner is a well-known fan of lip filler, which has earned her famous plump pout.

With lip fillers, you can choose from a variety of common brand names like Restylane or Juvaderm to get the result you´re looking for. When choosing which product to use, you just need to decide how natural you want the result to look and how long you want it to last.

Breast reductions/lifts – for the more natural look

As the interest in health and naturality is increasing, breast lifting and breast reduction procedures are becoming more popular. Breast lifting — also known as mastopexy — is becoming more common over breast augmentation, where an implant is added to increase the cup size.

Traditional underwired and padded bras have fallen out of fashion, with women prioritizing comfort and the natural look, over enhancing their chest. UK high street brand Marks & Spencer reported a 40 per cent increase in the sale of non-wired bras in the past year and online retailer Net-a-Porter says a third of their bra sales are soft cup bralets.

Bum lifts

Today, having a round bum is as desired as a quest for pert breasts. Anthropologists and sociologists say that derriere has always been a signification of women youth, fertility and sensuality. Nowadays, the hourglass figure is an icon of pop culture’s perfect female body trends so bum lift treatments have risen by 252 per cent from 2000 to 2015, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Typically, the main procedures are a butt augmentation and a so-called Brazilian butt lift. Butt augmentation involves inserting implants which last for about 10 years. Brazilian butt lift procedure doesn’t use implants and instead uses natural body fat harvested from areas where it is unwanted. It’s a double benefit as you can improve the lines of your waist, thighs or any other part of your body and boost your backside at the same time.

Labiaplasty

Aging, giving birth, weight fluctuation, hormonal changes or just dissatisfying labia minora are the main reasons woman approach a labiaplasty.  In 2016, this type of surgery increased by 45 per cent, according to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and surgeons are seeing no decrease in demand.

In general, this procedure involves the removal of redundant and/or excess skin of the labia minora so recovery and scarring are minimal.
