Liposuction is a relatively simple cosmetic procedure which requires a small incision.  The procedure generally takes around 2 hours and can be carried out under both local and general anaesthetic.

After a cosmetic surgery procedure like liposuction, it will be necessary to wear compression bandages for 3 to 4 weeks. If you had liposuction on your ankles or lower legs, you will need to wear support stockings for approximately 6 weeks. You should expect swelling and bruising around the treated area for between 10 to 14 days. In general, a full recovery should take around 2 weeks.
